Scott Pilgrim, Volume 6
Previously (okay, more than a year ago), I had written about this little Canadian comic graphic novel series about a 23 year old who is learning about love, rockin’ out as the bass player in the band Sex Bob-Omb! and just generally hanging out with his friends. I haven’t heard if anyone decided to give this series a shot, but there is no better time than now. Unless you want to wait until tomorrow.
You see, after six long years, the final book in the series, written by Bryan Lee O’Malley, Scott Pilgrim’s Finest Hour is being released by Oni Press tomorrow!
If books, even graphic novels, have too many words for you, you can always wait until next month when the movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World comes out on August 13th. The movie was directed by the one-and-only Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and you can see the trailers for the movie in HD over at Apple.
I have read (and re-read) all five volumes that are out right now and enjoy them all. The movie adaptation looks perfect, although it should be pointed out that it (apparently) follows the first three volumes very closely, but goes off on it’s own for the final half of the story. That said, O’Malley was part of the film making process, so it has his blessing.
Check it out! We are Sex Bob-Omb! One! Two! Three! Four!
